Realtek Linux wireless driver
Welcome to the Realtek Linux wireless driver project.
Everything is under development and we need some more help. If you want to add something here, please do so.
Rtl-wifi is a project aiming to provide support for Realtek WiFi cards under linux. The author of the old sourceforge project rtl8180-sa2400 has not been heard from in quite some time and without write access to the repository there we are left with little choice but to fork the project here. (see: history)
Status
This project is alive and new. As at Jan 18 2007 we have the svn repository forked from the old project, and several patches applied that seem to be working for people on recent kernels (2.6.8 - 2.6.21). See the Forum for more information.
The mac80211 based version of rtl8187 is in the mainline kernel as of 2.6.23, and a mac80211 package for older kernels is available.
A mac80211 based version of rtl8180 is in the mainline kernel as of 2.6.25.
We need people working on and documenting the source code, but we also need Bug reporters and people writing the end user documentation.

We haven't made any releases yet, so grab the source from the SVN Repository
Spam protection
We have installed some extensions to protect the Wiki against Spam. Some keywords mostly in URL are blocked and Users, not registered have to fill out a Captcha, when editing a page. If you have any problems with the Spam protection System please mail me at hauke (at) hauke-m.de
